5 K RACE FOR THE ARTS!
The Worcester County Arts Council is excited to announce the inaugural 5K Race/Walk for the Arts to be held on Saturday, May 16 in our historic, downtown Berlin.

The Worcester County Arts Council invites all interested artists to participate in a juried art show to be exhibited during the month of July at the WCAC Gallery.

Community Arts Development (CAD) Grants
The Worcester County Arts Council’s Community Arts Development Grants program is designed to assist local community based groups produce and present arts activities in Worcester County and is funded and supported by the Maryland State Arts Council.

In the second granting cycle of FY 2015 the Worcester County Arts Council awarded $11,000 in Community Arts Development Grants program to various art projects and events to be presented by local nonprofit arts organizations beginning January 1, 2015. Last fiscal year the Arts Council awarded a total of $20,000 to local organizations thru this program.
Funding will support a wide variety of creative and innovative projects that are of outstanding artistic quality and demonstrate community benefit enhancing the lives of everyone living and visiting the Worcester County.

The next grant deadline is 2 pm on April 15, 2015.
The following is a list of organizations and their projects that are being awarded a Community Arts Development Grant beginning January 1, 2015:

Assateague People of Delmarva - Annual Drums on the Pocomoke
Mid-Atlantic Symphony Orchestra – Spring Concert Performances
Pine Tones Chorus - Spring Concert Series
Pocomoke High School Drama Club - "Cinderella" Musical
Town of Berlin Arts & Entertainment - Movies in the Park Series
Town of Ocean City Special Events - Children's Art Workshops
Ward Museum of Wildfowl Art - Carving Competition & Festival
Worcester County Library Foundation - "Cinderella" Ballet of Maryland Performance

APPLICATION PROCEDURE AND DEADLINES:

Grant Periods: Grants may be made for projects occurring during the 6-month periods of:
January 1 through June 30 - Deadline to submit: October 15th
July 1 through December 31 - Deadline to submit: April 15th


Organizations which hold projects year-around or in both of the 6-month periods may request grants which cover the entire fiscal year of July through the following June.
Annual grant applications must be submitted by April 15th.
