Our popular annual Summer Arts Camp is set for the week of June 16 - June 20 for the students entering grades 3 to 7 in Fall 2008, and will be held at Berlin Intermediate School from 9 a.m. to 12 noon.
The cost for the week of camp is $50.00 with bus transportation from Snow Hill and Pocomoke for an additional $5.00. Scholarship opportunities are available - please contact Arts Council for details.
Applications will be distributed to students through the schools in April and be also available for download beginning of April directly from our website.

The campers will have a choice to select 3 classes from the following list:
Native American Crafts - Dawn Manyfeathers
Create Native American dream catchers and beaded crafts while learning about Native American folklore
Weaving on a Hand Loom - Linda Davis
Create weaving projects on a hand loom
“Art of the Islands” - Molly O’Brien
Mixed media - create a different project daily- Painting, pastels, etc.
Leatherworking - Felton Gould
Create several leatherworking projects using various techniques such as stamping, dying, punching
Printmaking - Natalee Palmer
Design and create several projects while learning various printing techniques
Drama - Sandy Lanier
Learn and perform improvisation
Jewelry making - Joy Davidson Randrup
Design and make your own jewelry with glass beads
Basket Weaving - Dianne Gould
Learn the techniques of weaving the basket
Bookmaking and Calligraphy - Kate McCabe
Construct books from both new and recycled materials and learn the basic of calligraphy
Paper Mache Creations - Mary-Michele Davis
Explore the techniques of Paper Mache while creating different projects
“Just Dance”- Misti Whitaker
Enhance skills and knowledge of dance while working on a dance routine
Pencil Drawing- Ross Hammer
Explore the techniques, strokes and tools of drawing with pencils
Watercolor Painting- Christy Powell
Learn the techniques of painting with watercolors
Abstract Painting-Caroline Forrester
Explore different painting techniques and art fundamentals including texture, line, form, color and composition
Sculpture - Monica Forrester
Create 3-dimensional designs using a variety of materials and techniques
Last year we offered 12 classes instructed by professional teachers/artists. Many of them have been teaching at our summer arts camp for years.
