Oils and Pastels

BIOGRAPHY:

My interest in painting began when I was living in my home state of Maine, known for its beautiful scenery and coastline where I took lessons from a well known local artist. In 1971, I moved to the Eastern Shore of Maryland and found the area’s quiet marshes, sandy beaches, and farmlands to be just as lovely and interesting as Maine’s coast. Both places are very special to me and inspire my work.

Since retiring in 2011, I was able to pick up painting again and have taken classes and workshops locally. I particularly enjoy painting landscapes, seascapes, march scenes, and flower in oils and pastels.

I am a member of the Worcester County Arts Council and the Art League of Ocean City. I have exhibited my paintings at both venues and have received Honorable Mention awards at the Arts Council for oil painting in 2013, 2017, and 2018, and an Honorable Mention award at the Art League for on of my pastel paintings in 2017. In May 2018, I was voted the Local’s Favorite Artist at the Globe Restaurant in Berlin, and as the winner I had solo show in their Balcony Art Gallery during the month of February 2019.
