KATHRYN REDDEN
WORK DESCRIPTION: Multi-media artist in acrylic painting, pastels, mixed media, photography, and gel printing.
ARTIST’S STATEMENT: “Life starts out. You learn, grow, and experience all life can offer. This includes challenges. Surprise detours. My cancer challenge was a detour. It turned out to be a re-imagination of myself. My art now had a rejuvenated mission: to promote messages of Affirmation, Faith, Hope, Perseverance, Reassurance, and Joy. The compass points on your personal journey map, whatever that may be, whatever you may be dealing with. I hope you find my works as an inspiration in your life”.
BIOGRAPHY: Kathryn was in 8th grade when she first started to study art in NJ. Oils, pastels, charcoal, acrylic, photography, and mixed media. Improvisation is key … whatever the objects or the inspiration to create all year round. The artists that most inspire her are Monet, O’Keefe, and Van Gogh for their colors, light, and textures.
She is a member of the Worcester County Arts, Corbin Gallery and Studio Cooperative, Crisfield Arts and Entertainment District, Somerset County Arts Council, Gallery 413, Salisbury Art Space, Art League of Ocean City, and the River Stirists Collective. She is a member of Toastmasters International and local clubs and is the Artistic Director and Performer with the Lower Shore Performing Arts Company.
Her art can be seen in the Worcester County Arts Council gallery and on its website, Windmill Creek Winery, and Atlantic General Hospital John “Jack” Burbage Regional Cancer Care Center, all in Berlin MD; Corbin Gallery and Studio and website and Gallery 413 both located in Crisfield, MD; Art League of Ocean City, Ocean City MD; Hair Studio 720 in Salisbury MD; Delmarva’s Discovery Museum Shop, Morgan’s Gift Shop and Christmas Sweet all in Pocomoke MD.
