Clay Reister Worcester County Arts Council Board of Directors - Treasurer Clay Reister is a life-long career artist and educator. He graduated from Salisbury University with a Bachelor of Arts degree and later a Master’s degree from the University of Maryland Eastern Shore. He was a doctoral candidate in the Organizational Leadership program at UMES (ABD). Mr. Reister’s varied career has long involved art, particularly graphic art. For several decades he has been an art instructor, and he is currently the Graphic Arts instructor at Worcester Technical High School. He teaches art, design, and interactive media.

Mr. Reister’s vision for the arts in Worcester County relates to his professional role as a Graphic Arts instructor. He has seen his students benefit from programs and scholarships from the Worcester County Arts Council; he would like to expand his personal involvement with the organization.

Mr. Reister’s talent for graphic art enabled him to pursue employment as a sign painter and graphic artist. In addition, he has operated successful construction and remodeling businesses. He is currently the co-owner of Burley Building and Remodeling Company.

The Worcester County Arts Council, Inc. is funded by an operating grant from the Maryland State Arts Council, (MSAC), an agency dedicated to cultivating a vibrant cultural community where the arts thrive. An agency of the Department of Business & Economic Development, the MSAC provides financial support and technical assistance to nonprofit organizations, units of government, colleges and universities for arts activities. Funding for the MSAC is also provided by the National Endowment for the Arts, a federal agency, which believes that a great nation deserves great art.
