Work Description
Richard works in graphite for detailed drawings of people, some recognizable musicians, actors, and artists. He also paints with oils, watercolors, and gouache. His subjects range from cars and trucks to portraits.

Biography
I began drawing on a regular basis in mid-2014 after retiring from the U.S. G. S. in Golden, Colorado. I draw portraits of authors, actors, and other artists. I have been painting portraits and studies of artists such as Sargent, Homer, and Remington for several years.
Getting life into a drawing or painting is the main thing for me. A drawing or painting must have the power of life in it. It is the impact on the viewer that engages them in my art that I’m trying to achieve.
