SANDRA STRACHAN BUCHANAN

APRIL JURIED SHOW JUDGE

Sandy Strachan Buchanan, born in Joplin, Missouri, was interested in Art from an early age.  After her family moved to Williamsport, Maryland, she had the opportunity to take Art classes at the Washington County Museum of Art while in elementary school.  Sandy studied Art at Kutztown University and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in art education. After graduating, she attended the Maryland Institute College of Art and took classes in Painting and Woodworking.  Sandy moved to the Eastern Shore of Maryland in 1981 and focused on figurative and landscape paintings of the area.  Sandy’s ability to paint portraits earned her commissions, and her landscapes were represented in several galleries.
